Project Description
H&H Painting Co. completed commercial painting in Jenison, MI for the new Jenison High School indoor athletic facility, a state-of-the-art 64,000-square-foot multi-purpose building. This project required specialized high-performance coatings and advanced equipment to deliver a professional finish across structural steel, walls, sprinkler systems, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) components throughout the expansive facility.
Background/Story
In 2020, Jenison Public Schools voters approved a $60 million school improvement bond that made this facility possible. The district needed a solution to Michigan’s unpredictable weather that limited year-round training for their athletes, including their state champion marching band. The new field house features an 80-yard indoor turf area, a two-lane track, a cheer room, and a classroom/multipurpose education room.
As Jenison Public Schools Superintendent Brandon Graham explained to Wood TV8 News, “In Michigan, you never know what type of weather you’re going to get, and so we’re going to have a surface and a playing area that our kids are going to be able to access no matter what the weather is outside.”
The facility opened in September 2022 for the fall sports season and is now available to both student athletes and community members who want to use the track.
