Remko Bosma Founds Business
The foundation of H&H Painting Co. was created by Remko Bosma in 1932 with the formation of Bosma Painting Co. in Kalamazoo, Mich. Remko immigrated to the United States in 1912 from the Netherlands, where he learned the painting trade through extensive schooling and hands-on training.
1937
Chester Haan Joins
In the late 1930s, Remko Bosma was joined in the business by Chester Haan, his son-in-law. Chester spent time in the field painting and supervising. During World War II, the company worked extensively with Fort Custer and was on call 24 hours a day to steam-clean amphibian tanks that were being tested at Campbell Lake.

Chester Haan Assumes Leadership Role
Chester Haan assumed a full-time office role to help manage rapid growth in business in the mid-1950s.
1961
Curtis Haan Joins
Curtis Haan, Chester Haanโs son, joined the company full-time in 1961 to help run the business after graduating from Kalamazoo College. He had previously worked for the company painting in the summer while attending high school and then college.
1962
Remko Bosma Retires
1962 Remko Bosma retired, leaving the business to his son-in-law Chester Haan.
1971
H&H Painting Is Incorporated
In 1971, H&H Painting Co. was incorporated as a merit shop by Curtis Haan and his brother Warren.
1982
Bosma Painting Company Sells to H&H
In 1982, Bosma Painting Company ceased operations as a union shop. It sold its assets to H&H Painting Co. under the leadership and presidency of Curtis Haan, who maintained Bosmaโs Painting Companyโs client base through the transition.
1985
Darcie Johnson Joins H&H
Darcie Johnson joined H&H Painting Co. in March 1985 as a computer operator/bookkeeper.
1995
H&H Appoints NEW CFO
In 1995 Darcie Johnson was promoted to office manager/CFO of H&H Painting Co.
1998
Chad Sisco Joins H&H
Chad Sisco, who earned a management degree from Western Michigan University and had extensive knowledge in the paint coatings industry, was hired in April 1998 by Curtis Haan as a project manager to assist with the rapid growth of the company and to begin a business succession plan.
2006
H&H Appoints New President
In 2006 Chad Sisco was appointed as president of H&H Painting Co.
2008
Curtis Haan Retires
Curtis Haan retired on Jan. 1, 2008. Assets of H&H Painting Co. were acquired by Chad Sisco, who is the current owner and president of the company.

Iโm Chad Sisco, the proud owner of H&H Painting Co., a painting company with deep roots West Michigan. Since 1932, weโve been providing top-quality painting and coatings services, and Iโm honored to continue that legacy.
With a management team boasting over 120 combined years of industry experience, we bring expertise, precision, and a commitment to excellence to all commercial spaces large or small; we take pride in delivering results that stand the test of time.
Outside of work, you will find me on the golf course, taking a boat ride, or cheering on Michigan football and basketball, and spending time with family and friends. I also greatly support Western Michigan University athletics and am a proud alumni of Western Michigan University. Sports and competition have always fueled my passion for teamwork and dedication.
